Military Preparation Centre Tutor (North West)

Job Role

We're looking for an inspirational, supportive individual to join our team and assist in developing our Military preparation provision, working with the regional manager to deliver a high-quality teaching experience.

Delivered within Army Reserve Centres, our funded courses give learners access to a working military base with fitness suite and specialist equipment, while preparing them for the armed forces recruitment and selection process. This is a great opportunity for the right individual and an extremely exciting journey for us, as we grow the new provision, and we're looking to build a team of passionate tutors to lead from the front.
 

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we're offering a competitive salary range £24,325 - £28,625 per annum (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

What our people say
 

Location: North West (requirements to travel within the region)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm)
Closing Date: 5 July 2022

Key Responsibilities

•    Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment plans to a high quality and mark assessments within the required timeframes, promoting academic achievement as an essential element of progression and promotion within the armed forces.
•    Deliver high quality practical sessions, including fitness and land based and water based outdoor activities such as navigation, climbing and kayaking, which help develop the qualities and characteristics that will help our students achieve their chosen career goals.
•    Operate in-line with procedures, maintain contact with parents, guardians and employers, and report on progress where appropriate and when required 
•    Provide information, advice and guidance to students in regards to entry pathways and careers in the military, maintaining records of achievement and progress in fitness testing, career applications and work experiences

Skills and Experience

•    Strong professional and vocational experience
•    Fitness/ personal training qualification
•    Outstanding observation grading 
•    Level 2 English and Maths functional skills
•    Knowledge and experience of portfolio-based teaching and learning processes
