Executive Governance Officer (Essex)

Job Role

Join our Corporate Governance team as an Executive Governance Officer to lead and administer Seetec’s Corporate Secretariat requirements and provide key support to the Group Executive Board and sub boards. You will provide advice and guidance to Board members and Corporate Governance teams on corporate matters. 


Our ideal candidate will be qualified in Corporate Governance/Law and will have experience of working closely with corporate governance in a large private company.
You will be a strategic thinker and have outstanding knowledge in this field.  You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.   

 

Key Responsibilities

•Provide comprehensive high quality Company Secretariat services to the Board, Committees and Supervisory boards.
•Draft advice and provide strong, solution-focused analytical thinking to cross organisational issues.
•Monitoring changes in relevant UK legislation and policy development, preparing briefing notes for directors where required and implementing procedures and changes as necessary to satisfy any new obligations
•Work collaboratively with Directors and Governance Teams to develop creative approaches.  
•Demonstrate and provide thought leadership on what makes effective business strategies.
•Utilise research and sector-based intelligence to ensure that strategies are evidence based and linked to cross organisational continual improvement.                
•Support the Company Secretary on matters, such as: company name changes, director changes, capital changes, registered office changes, and other company secretarial matters as required.                                  
•Deliver successful projects,  meeting targets, deadlines and objectives within well-defined policies and frameworks
•Coordinate group main board and committee meeting including collating briefings, papers and meeting packs.
•Attending Committee meetings for minute taking and tracking follow up actions.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

•Qualified or experienced in company secretarial matters or qualifications in corporate governance/law
•Understanding of good practice in corporate governance
•Experience of working closely with corporate governance in a large private company
•A proactive approach, with excellent administrative and organisational skills
•Keen attention to detail
•Previous experience in a company secretarial role/team or law firm within the corporate/compliance team
•A track record in maintaining effective relationships with a wide variety of people, including senior leaders and external stakeholders
•Excellent communications skills, including minute writing
•Strong IT skills
•Willingness to travel nationwide for internal and external meetings

 

 

Additional Information

Salary £39,733 to £41,200 per annum dependent on experience

Location: Hockley, Essex /Flexible location

Hours: 37 a week  8.30am - 5.00pm Monday- Thursday 8.30 am - 4.30pm Friday 

Closing Date:  1 June 2020
