Website Officer (Hockley)

Job Role

Our successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail with an analytical mind and good problem-solving skills.  We really need your technical skill in HTML, CSS, and your web development and SEO knowledge!
 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide input into the development of the digital communications strategy and governance framework for the website and intranet to ensure both channels are fully optimised as communication channels
• Ensure website functionality is optimised and that domain registration and hosting is current
• Manage technical and design developments for the website and intranet working with content owners and developers   
• Manage the content management system for both channels ensuring they are configured to meet business needs cost efficiently
• Drive search engine optimisation 
• Update and publish content designing layout, writing and editing basic web copy and promoting content to ensure maximum reach and impact 
• Produce guidelines for content owners
• Conduct regular content reviews and manage the road map and editorial schedules for creating, editing, publishing and retiring content; eliminating duplicated and / or redundant content to ensure the website is kept up to date and accurate
• Establish and track analytics and metrics for both channels; sharing data with the wider team and using insights improve performance

Skills and Experience

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Experience of using Macromedia suite, Adobe suite, Content Management Systems and W3C Web standards
• Digital project management experience
• Experience establishing and applying metrics and analytics for digital channels
• Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript
• Good understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
• Ability to troubleshoot website issues
• Excellent attention to detail with an analytical mind and good problem-solving skills
• Strong project manager with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to influence and persuade with good facilitation skills
• Results and metrics driven with a passion for continuous improvement
• Good understanding of the changing nature of digital channels and how different audiences engage with them 

Additional Information

Salary:  £25,000 to £30,000 pa (dependent on experience)


Location: Hockley, Essex


Hours: 37 Hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 08.30 am to 5pm, Friday 08.30 am to 4.30pm
Closing Date: 8 October 2020
