Health and Safety Officer (NE England)

Job Role

We’re recruiting for a new Health and Safety Officer to undertake Health and Safety duties at Seetec operational locations across the UK and to provide additional remote support to operational teams. To support the business, to establish and uphold Health, Safety and Environmental processes, driving compliance with applicable legislation, contractual requirements, and ISO Standards.

Reporting into the Group Health Safety and Environment, you’ll work with the Facilities Management Team, and various Operational Teams across the business to provide central support for day-to-day operations, special projects, and process to ensure continuous improvement in Safety Health and Environmental sustainability.

Our successful candidate will have a Diploma level NEBOSH qualification or equivalent H&S qualification and ideally be a Member of IOSH.

Location:   Remote delivery covering the North East of England

Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

•Acts as an employee owner, always considering the best interests of the company, shareholders, and other colleagues.
•Support the business to maintain the existing accreditation to ISO standards. 
•To ensure that H&S Best Practice is implemented and maintained.  
•Support the integration of new developments, and systems into the organisation.  
•To ensure compliance with current Health and Safety Legislation, and Regulations.
•Embed Health & Safety competencies and capabilities within operational teams. 
•Provide training, to enable others to support the Group Health and Safety Strategy.
•Prepare subject matter reports for management and relevant committees. 
•Ensure all premises are clean, safe, healthy, and comfortable working environments. 
•Incident investigations, and the provision of reports, and dashboards.

Skills and Experience

Essential  
•Diploma level NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification. 
•Membership of IOSH
•Significant experience in a Health & Safety role.
      

Desirable
•Environmental qualification 
•Membership of IEMA 
•Experience of working in a business partner model
