Production Operative (Barnstaple)

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Production Operative to join our busy manufacturing team.  

Our ideal candidate will have had experience in a manufacturing environment and be used to working to deadlines.  Experience in carpentry / woodwork is an advantage particularly the use of cnc machinery, saws, planers etc but relevant production in a similar field of production would be considered.   

Key Responsibilities

(this is not an exhaustive list and is not limited to the following)

  • Undertake assigned duties in a cost effective manner through possession of full range of skills pertinent to area and/or full technical knowledge of most complex tasks.
  • Proactively participate in training and development to enhance skills and progress in employment.
  • Monitor the quality of work produced in accordance with laid down procedures and standards for each task undertaken. Identifies problems and proactively identifies root cause and contributes to resolution.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Complete paperwork and maintain records, willing to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Organise and prioritise own and others workload to meet production requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working in a commercial environment, e.g. manufacturing, stores or requiring use of complex skills and variety of processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic skills Health & Safety requirements and regulations.
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Commitment to gaining an appropriate qualification and undertake necessary training.

Additional Information

Salary: £18,979 p.a 
Location: Barnstaple
Hours:  - 37 hrs per week - Monday – Thursday 8.00am – 16.15pm  Friday 8.00am – 14.30pm
Closing Date: 9 December 2021
