Head of Employer Services (South West)

Job Role

Seetec Pluss is one of the UK’s leading providers of employability and health services, supporting thousands of people to move into employment each year.

As an organisation we are recruiting for a number of Employability contracts to support the unemployed back to work. This role will play a key part in contributing to the UK's economic recovery, 'Restart Scheme' which is a cornerstone of the Governments 'Plan For Jobs' strategy and the expansion to the existing Work and Health Programme (WHP_JETS).

The role will be supporting individuals who have been in long- term unemployment or those affected because of the devastating economic impact of Covid-19.  We will address the barriers to gaining new employment with tailored support for each individual to achieve and sustain good work, including supported job search, re-training for a different sector and restoring self-confidence for work.

You will provide motivational support to build positive relationships, guide, inspire, challenge, encourage and help individuals obtain sustainable employment.

This role is critical to the evolution of the employer engagement strategy within the Employability & Health division of Seetec, supporting both Seetec Pluss and Pluss to secure meaningful and sustainable employment for our programme participants.

The Head of Employer Services is responsible for developing and delivering upon the employer engagement strategy for the division, identifying and realising opportunities to establish collaborative relationships with employers, nationwide, which establishes Seetec Pluss/Pluss as a recruitment partner of choice.

The incumbent in this role will be an ambassador for Seetec Pluss and Pluss, promoting both organisations with national and regional stakeholders and championing the employment of people with health conditions and disabilities, as well as the long-term unemployed.

The Head of Employer Services will lead teams of employer engagement and job placement managers across the UK, ensuring that, wherever Seetec Pluss and Pluss have a presence, we connect into the local labour market by building relationships with employers, Jobcentre Plus, LEPs, LAs and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a geographically dispersed team of employer engagement professionals across the UK.
  • Develop and deliver an Employer Engagement Strategy which spans national, regional and sub-regional priorities and opportunities.
  •  Implement actions which enable the organisation to identify and capitalise upon emerging opportunities to support workforce recruitment via stakeholder engagement and labour market research.
  • Represent the organisation at national forums, including the DWP-sponsored Prime Providers Partnership, Disability Confident partnership groups, Employer associations and other networks.
  • Develop, monitor and evolve processes which support the timely and effective filling of employer vacancies across delivery locations, secure repeat business and secure the buy-in of operational teams.
  • Develop a set of performance measures to ensure that employer engagement teams are aligned to the requirements of the business, and hold team members to account for delivery against those measures.
  • Work with colleagues in IT services to improve the organisation’s capability to capture and report upon vacancy acquisition and filling.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in meeting employers’ recruitment needs by attracting high volumes of well-prepared job candidates.
  • Experience in a senior management capacity.
  • Experience in delivering high performance outputs via a geographically dispersed team.
  • Experience of delivering services to meet rigorous contractual and quality standards.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Experience in the design, promotion and monitoring of employer engagement strategies, policies, operating procedures and action plans.

Desirable

  • A good understanding of the employability sector, and the challenges faced in the employment market for long term unemployed people and those with health conditions.
  • Experience of using management information to drive Continuous Improvement.
  • Full driving licence to enable deployment across a number of teams, according to need.

Additional Information

Salary: £63,000 - £68,000 p.a. (dependent on experience)
Location: South West
Hours: 37hrs per week - Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 17.00pm  Friday 8.30am – 16.30pm
