Assistant Change Coach (Southampton)

We are seeking talented individuals to join our team as Assistant Employment Coaches.  You will make initial outbound welcome call to engage customers following a referral to the scheme.  Organise and undertake job search/job club activity on a 1-2-1 or group basis for example, preparing CV’s, support with applications, promoting relevant job opportunities to customers, Reverse Marketing of customers to employers etc.  You will need to be a motivational adviser to build positive relationships, guide, inspire, challenge, encourage and help individuals obtain sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to engage participants following referral to the programme.
  • Conduct welcome/introduction meetings for small groups or individuals, gathering ID evidence and completing all necessary administration.
  • Undertake initial assessments with customers, update records and book them onto follow-up meetings with their designated Change Coach.
  • Sensitively handle customer concerns about joining an employment programme or returning to work.
  • Organise and undertake job club activities.
  • Act as a central point of contact, provide telephone/online support to a caseload of customers.
  • Assist with customers' employment training needs.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrates effective questioning skills, including probing and challenging.
  • Experience of an outcome driven environment.
  • Experience in the use of ICT systems.
  • Experience of recording customer information on database programmes.
  • Understanding of how to affect positive behaviour change.

Additional Information

Salary: £19,554 - £20,994 p.a. (dependent on experience)
Location: Southampton & Outreach
Hours: 37hrs per week - Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 17.00pm  Friday 8.30am – 16.30pm
Closing Date: 1 October  2021
