We're Hiring: Youth Employment Advisor
Do you have a passion for supporting young people to achieve their career goals? We're looking for a Youth Employment Advisor to join our Youth Job Guarantee programme, helping young people aged 18-24 overcome barriers, build confidence and move into sustainable employment.
You'll manage a caseload of participants, providing personalised coaching, careers guidance, job search support, CV and interview preparation, and ongoing in-work support. Working closely with employers, training providers and community partners, you'll help young people access the opportunities, skills and support they need to succeed.
We're looking for someone with experience working with young people, managing caseloads and delivering positive outcomes in a target-driven environment. Strong communication skills, a good understanding of safeguarding and confidence using Microsoft 365 applications are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and coach a team of Youth Employment Advisors to achieve performance targets and deliver an exceptional participant experience.
- Oversee caseloads and participant journeys, using performance data to identify risks, barriers and opportunities for intervention.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, personalised support including assessments, action plans, employability coaching and skills development.
- Support young people to build confidence, independence and workplace readiness, helping them progress towards sustainable employment.
- Work closely with employers, partners and internal teams to secure employment opportunities and achieve successful job matches.
- Drive sustained employment outcomes through effective in-work support and early intervention where challenges arise.
- Maintain high standards of compliance, ensuring participant records, evidence and management information are accurate and up to date.
- Promote safeguarding and participant welfare, ensuring concerns are identified, managed and escalated appropriately.
- Champion continuous improvement through coaching, feedback and development to enhance team performance and capability.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support the Business Manager in delivering programme objectives and operational excellence.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience working with young people aged 18-24.
- Experience managing a caseload of customers, participants, learners or service users while maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to motivate, encourage and support individuals facing barriers to employment, education or progression.
- Experience working in a target-driven environment and achieving performance objectives.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, including identifying and responding to risk or vulnerability.
- Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications and digital systems, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and case management systems.
- Resilience and professionalism when managing challenging conversations and complex situations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of participants and partners.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Ability to travel across the required geographical area to meet business needs.
Desirable
- Knowledge of local labour markets, employment opportunities and progression pathways relevant to young people.
- Experience or knowledge of employability, careers guidance, welfare-to-work, youth services or related support programmes.
- Understanding of the challenges young people face when entering the labour market and the support required to overcome barriers.
- Experience working with employers, training providers or community partners to create progression opportunities.
- Ability to support individuals with career planning, job search and skills development activities.
