We’re currently recruiting for an Employment Adviser to join our dedicated and supportive team within the Restart Programme. In this role, you will provide tailored advice and guidance to participants, helping them overcome barriers to employment and move towards realistic and meaningful job goals. You’ll play a key role in empowering individuals to regain confidence, develop their skills, and secure sustainable employment.

As an Employment Adviser, you will manage your own caseload of participants, supporting them throughout their journey back into work. You’ll act as their coach, mentor, and main point of contact, building strong and trusted relationships. You’ll be responsible for motivating, guiding, and constructively challenging individuals, while identifying solutions to the challenges they face and helping them achieve long-term success.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills, along with a target driven and proactive mindset. You’ll be highly motivated, able to use your initiative, and confident in finding solutions to problems. The ability to manage your workload, work under pressure, and operate independently is essential. However, we understand that great candidates don’t always tick every box. In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we're offering a competitive salary range of  £26,500  to £29,545 per annum (dependent on experience) with these great additional benefits:

Location:   This is an office-based role, working in Bristol
Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and progress a caseload of customers, supporting them to overcome barriers and move into employmentMeet and exceed personal performance targets (KPIs)
  • Deliver a positive and engaging experience that encourages customer participation
  • Build tailored Action Plans using SMART goals to support timely and effective progressionProvide personalised job search support, including CV writing and interview preparationDevelop knowledge of the local labour market to identify and match customers to suitable job opportunities
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures always, including safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, quality, health and safety and IT. 
  • To undertake any other duties, as required, appropriate to the post 

Skills and Experience

Essential 

  • Basic understanding of self-employment and related support pathways
  • Strong IT skills, with experience using Microsoft Office programmes
  • Experience working in a target-driven environment
  • Proven ability to deliver services in line with contractual and quality standards

Desirable 

  • Good understanding of both the employability and recruitment sectors
  • Experience delivering information, advice, and guidance to support individuals
  • Strong ability to work with and support people from diverse backgrounds
  • Full UK driving licence
