Commercial Modeller (Flexible Remote Working)

Job Role

Join our Bid Management team as a Commercial Modeller providing commercial insight and financial modelling throughout the bid development process. Our successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Commercial Modelling, the wider Strategy & Growth team, and Operations to develop comprehensive financial models for bids which maximise our chance of success. In this role you’ll be required to participate in the end-to-end bidding process through undertaking initial viability assessments, developing price-to-win strategies, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and scenario planning. 

 


We need your ability to understand and interpret commissioner specifications and advise on innovative commercial approaches to ensure that Seetec’s bid submissions are competitive and deliverable with an acceptable level of risk and return. Excellent organisational skills are key to this role along with the ability to work on multiple bids/projects and manage conflicting demands whilst still achieving competing deadlines and targets.  


In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £46,750 to £55,000 p.a. (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Key Responsibilities

•Full production of a financial model or business case (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, financial projections & supporting info & analysis) that incorporates all financial and commercial decisions / assumptions of the bid
•Provision of commercially astute guidance around the characteristics of a ‘good deal’ using both competitive insight and informed financial requirements in often complex commissioning and regulatory environments.
•Develop an excellent understanding of Seetec’s operational delivery and market sectors, in order to fully understand the implications of contractual obligations, commercial models and performance offers/targets within bids. 
•Review commissioner specifications to understand the commercial, financial, legal and operational implications. Identify potential opportunities supporting development of a winning tender which delivers value to the client, the customers and Seetec.
•Commercial support and challenge on key assumptions, and production of detailed scenario and sensitivity analysis supporting the financial models.
•Identification of financial and commercial risks, supporting the bid manager to monitor these through appropriate risk management structures and identifying creative interventions to mitigate potential impact.
•Develop and maintain strong, positive yet challenging relationships and providing a link between CCG, Strategy and Growth, Operational and Finance teams.
•Preparation and delivery of all written and verbal proposals relating to financial modelling for the bid.
•Assist with client presentations, competitive dialogues and post tender negotiations.
•Ensure that all bid models are subject to the agreed bid governance process. Prepare finance information for internal reviews with senior management, and present at relevant project boards and Group sign-off meetings as required. 
•Support the handover of the bid to the implementation team ensuring that costing and reporting tools are established and handed over to the relevant Senior Finance Business Partner.

Commercial Modeller

Skills and Experience

•Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with proven track record of financial modelling experience (or equivalent combination of relevant alternative professional qualification and relevant financial experience).
•Advanced knowledge of using MS Excel to build complex financial models, including scenario and sensitivity analysis. 
•Experience of working in a contract management/bidding/sales environment, FP&A or as an operational finance manager, ideally with a large government contractor delivering people focused services. Able to demonstrate an understanding of insurance, employment law and other commercial considerations. 
•Experience of navigating bid governance processes, including presenting to senior management. 
•Experience of presenting key financial and commercial information to clients as part of competitive dialogue, negotiation or bid evaluation.
•Experience of working with operational and bid/project teams to develop financial models that are deliverable and offer an acceptable balance of risk and reward.
