Platform & Infrastructure Network Engineer (Flexible Location)

Job Role

Join our Digital Technology Services team as a Platform & Infrastructure Network Engineer to maintain and configure all corporate platforms and infrastructure, including any hardware builds or firmware upgrades enabling Seetec business operations to meet security, statutory and regulatory requirements and deliver a comprehensive range of services for end users.  Digital and technology Services deliver critical business applications that are vital to the support and successful completion of business operations performed by Functions in meeting the Strategic Objectives of Seetec. 

Applications are installed on technical platforms and infrastructure and accessed by a range of devices that provide the interface between the user and the applications all of which are essential to successful delivery of the service to ensure business operations can be maintained.


Our successful candidate will have current experience in Forcepoint and educated to A Level or equivalent and hold accreditation as a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and RITT Support. We need your skills and experience of working as a Network engineer within a large public sector organisation (Council / Local Authority / NHS / University etc).


In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £45,000 to £49,500 p.a.  (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Location:   Flexible Remote Working   

Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

•    Utilising market knowledge and vendor technology roadmaps to support the alignment between applications and infrastructure requirements ensuring an efficient, secure technical operation, mitigating any risk of unplanned cost whilst exploiting new and innovative technology development 
•    Design, Plan, build and implementation of network infrastructure required to enable secure access to and operation of applications needed to ensure successful business operations 
•    Working collaboratively to meet service, security and operational requirements and network infrastructure performance targets that enable business operations to be effective 
•    Supporting the function by resolving reported incidents and problems to meet agreed security and service levels ensuring business operations continue with minimum disruption 
•    Using operational toolsets to proactively monitor all platforms and network infrastructure helping to prevent security and technical failures ensuring minimum disruption to business operations 
•    Managing requests for change ensuring the maintenance of a current, secure, technical environment supporting the delivery of business operations. 
•    Conducting diagnostic testing and supporting tasks on platforms and network infrastructure to identify and resolve security and technical issues; ensuring the continuation of operations and minimising business disruption 
•    Carrying out the Administration of Firewalls, switches and other network infrastructure and the setting and maintenance of Policies necessary to ensure that user access to services and applications is managed on a least privileged basis and aligned to the joiners, movers, and leavers’ process to maintain a secure and safe operating environment.

Skills and Experience

•    ForcePoint experience (2+ Years) 

•    Network Engineer Experience (5+ Years) 

•    Azure Networking Experience (Desirable) 

•    Relevant IT qualification backed up with appropriate experience
