Treasury Officer (Remote, Essex based))

Job Role

Join our Financial Operations team as our Treasury Officer. You’ll be responsible and accountable for the efficient and timely delivery of the Treasury functions including cash flow forecasting and petty cash/ credit card/ bank reconciliations, client expenses, vouchers, processing payment runs and manual payments. 

 

Our ideal candidate will be Qualified/ part-qualified AAT (level 3 at a minimum)/ equivalent or qualified by experience. We need your excellent communication skills, the ability to use own initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.

Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

•    To maintain accurate and up to date financial systems and information for the Group to enable the Directors to safeguard and develop the Company’s assets.
•    Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (including cash book, bank transactions). 
•    Enter data into computer systems using defined computer programs and methods including Sage 200.
•    Ensure petty cash balances are confirmed for the month end and relevant information received from all centers every month within a timely manner.
•    Ensure the safeguarding of vouchers and monthly reconciliations and posting are completed.
•    Ensure cash flow forecasting is updated daily with cash inflows and outflows and forecasted are review and updated regularly, including discussions with Finance Business partners to ensure accuracy of data and escalating to management when there are any concerns of data or cash flow requirements. 
•    Accountable for ensuring all bank transfer / BACS/ payment requests are properly authorised and mandate compliant. 
•    Ensure the Treasury related mailbox’s are maintained in a timely manner and unread emails are kept to a minimum. Emails should be reviewed and dealt with where applicable within the turnaround target.
•    Verifying the accuracy of invoices, payments and other accounting documents or records. 
•    Reconcile records with both internal company information and external information issued by suppliers and customers. 
•    Investigate questionable data, escalate to line management and recommend action to resolve discrepancies.

Skills and Experience

Desirable
•    Previous experience with cash flow forecasting.

Essential
•    Qualified/ part-qualified AAT (level 3 at a minimum)/ equivalent or qualified by experience.
•    Sage 200 experience.
•    Ability to analyse and problem solve.
•    Previous experience in a treasury related role.
•    The ability to find efficiencies in processes and implement changes for continuous improvement.
•    Intermediate/ advance Excel knowledge.
