Marketing Executive (Flexible Location)

We’re recruiting a Marketing Executive to join our amazing Marketing and Communications team in this brand-new role!


Our Marketing Executive will play a key role in delivering our external and internal engagement strategies through creating cut through content that reaches the right audiences at the right time through the right channel; engaging our employees and promoting our value proposition externally to help protect and grow business and improve people’s lives by unlocking their social and economic potential. 


This new role will deliver marketing and communications activities to meet the performance requirements of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Skills for Growth initiative within transport and logistics.   


We’re looking for a creative and accurate writer for digital and offline channels, who has strong copywriting and editing skills and is an expert at adapting their writing style for different audiences and channels.  You’ll have previous experience of working in a marketing and communications environment and will have delivered various marketing projects or campaigns. 

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £28,800 to £32,000  p.a.  (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Location:   Flexible Remote Working
Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Account Manager to plan, implement, monitor, review and evaluate marketing activities and campaigns in support of the GMCA contract delivery objectives.
  • Deliver digital tactics including: creating content for website and social media channels, PPC campaigns
  • Deliver offline tactics including: writing, editing and organising design and production of marketing collateral aimed at learners, employers, referral partners and other stakeholders.
  • Plan, promote and run networking events and build relationships with target employers groups, relevant trade associations and other referral partners.
  • Liaise with external agencies, partners and stakeholders to coordinate the planning and delivery of marketing and communications activities.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate services and operational colleagues across the group to ensure activities are aligned and resources are deployed.
  • Support the coordination of records, administration, contract management and financial documentation in relation to marketing communications activity.

Skills and Experience


  • Experience of working in a marketing and communications environment
  • Experience of coordinating a marketing project or campaign
  • Experience of writing for digital and offline channels (e.g. websites, promotional literature)
  • Knowledge of digital communications



  • 2+ years’ experience working in a marketing and communications environment
  • Experience of using a variety of social media platforms to deliver marketing campaigns
  • Experience within B2B and B2C marketing
  • Knowledge of apprenticeships and vocational education and training
  • Recognised marketing qualification
