Self-Employment Specialist In Work Support Trainer (Remote delivery within the South West)

We’re looking for a dynamic Self-Employment Support Adviser to join our team and play a vital role in helping customers progress on their self-employment journey. You’ll provide tailored one-to-one support and deliver engaging workshops designed to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to start and grow their own businesses.

Working closely with Employment Advisers, you’ll support customers who are preparing to launch their business and those who have already started and been validated as a business start on CMS. Your goal will be to help them reach a recognised programme ‘outcome’.

We’re looking for someone who has experience in delivering training or workshops, ideally in a business or employment support setting and has a strong understanding of self-employment and small business development. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is organised and detail-oriented, especially when recording evidence and outcomes.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range  £26,000 to £29,545  p.a.  (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Meet personal job performance targets, including all Quality and Compliance requirements
  • Progress to outcome an IWS caseload of participants using a variety of coaching strategies to help participants maintain and grow their businesses.
  • Deliver high impact training solutions to meet a range of participant needs (e.g. how to complete Tax returns’, creating asset inventory and balance sheets, and other relevant activities to develop a business enterprise)
  • Co-produce effective in-work support plans with participants, providing practical support to ensure they maintain and grow their business enterprise
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to progress participants
  • Working with the operational teams and other appropriate stakeholders, participate in delivering specific self-employment-related events.
  • Selecting appropriate facilitation methods or activities to meet the individual or group needs. 
  • Create and deliver tailored self-employment knowledge and skills sessions to customers within contracts that you are currently supporting.
  • When required, market specific local programmes in order to help participants business enterprises grow
  • Strive to maintain high standards of delivery, including participation in self-evaluation training observations 
  • Maintain files and participant records to the required compliance and quality standards

Skills and Experience

 

Essential 

  • Extensive proven track record of self-employment knowledge and experience
  • Strong understanding of barriers to self-employment, with coaching and motivational skills to help customers achieve their goals
  • Ability to work collaboratively across delivery and administrative teams to achieve targets
  • Fully IT literate, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience of maintaining accurate database records
  • Dynamic, organised, and able to manage workload effectively
  • Self-motivated and experience of delivering high performance target driven culture.
  • Ability to present Self employment courses and workshops to customers and staff.

Desirable  

  • Hands-on experience of running a business
  • Teaching or training qualification
  • Experience in data analysis, report writing, and creating presentations
  • Experience of delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards
