Detention Custody Officer (this is NOT working directly for Seetec)

Job Role

Seetec Recruitment Solutions, are hiring on behalf of their Client for Detention Custody Officers, where you will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for people during a difficult and often stressful point in their lives, so you'll be at the forefront of ensuring that the arrival process is as worry-free as possible and that they can continue to access the support they need throughout their stay.
 

You will help to accommodate an ever-changing population from a variety of backgrounds, all with different experiences, faiths, beliefs and cultural values. You'll be the difference by going the extra mile to ensure their comfort, respect and decency.
 

Key Responsibilities

The Responsibilities within this role include, but are not limited to:


•    Working with our operational team to create a safe, secure and friendly environment where detainees can access support and services
•    Build strong relationships with detainees to ensure they feel supported, guided in the right direction and understood whilst in our care
•    Ensure that all detainees are able to communicate with our partners and receive help and support; whether this be medical, welfare, faith or cultural provisions they require
•    Operate regular transfer to allow for the Home Office processing of asylum and immigration claims
 

Skills and Experience

Our client isn’t necessarily looking for industry experience or for candidates to tick every box, all they ask is that you are able to support, empathise with and reassure vulnerable people with the ability to deal with challenging situation and able to support whilst providing a stress- and worry-free environment for detainee’s. 
 

You will need to remain open-minded and want to do the job to help people to transform their lives, Demonstrating the core values of being Caring, Transparent, Collaborative and most importantly to be accountable.
 

Additional Information

As part of the application process, you would be required to attend an Assessment Centre where They’ll assess your suitability for the role.
 

The role will also involve completing a 6-week initial training course with includes de-escalation and Control & Restraint training.
 

This role is a permanent, full-time position working 42 hours per week across a 24/7 shift pattern. Work patterns to be discussed.

Our client is offering a salary of £26,602 per annum, you will also benefit from the cycle to work scheme, years of service awards and a Royal London pensions scheme.
