Youth Wellbeing Coach FTC March 25 - (Redditch)

Job Role

 

Join our team in this new and exciting role of Youth Wellbeing Coach.

The aim of this role is to help to improve the health of participants between the ages of 15 to 24 who are seeking employment. 

You’ll develop and implement health specific action plans, identifying and utilising evidence-based interventions to support the achievement of job goals that are suited to the participants mental and physical health needs, promoting the value of work for health & well-being, helping to build confidence and the practical and emotional skills to adapt to a working routine.

You’ll address the barriers with tailored support for each participant to achieve and sustain good employment, including providing the skills and techniques to cope with life events and challenges and manage their emotional and physical wellbeing, restoring self-confidence for work. You’ll deliver a range of health specific programmes within scope of practice to support participants with their health management including Managing Anxiety, Stress Management, Pain Management, and various weekly sessions.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in providing motivational support to build positive relationships, guide, inspire, challenge, encourage and increase capacity to apply for and engage in sustainable employment.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we offer a competitive salary range  £26,500 to £29,545  p.a. /pro rata (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Hours:   Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025 -  Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Consistently deliver performance outputs against agreed targets and contractual requirements.
  • Supporting a caseload of customers using effective action planning techniques to educate and advise on health and well-being conditions in order to enable a return to sustainable employment.
  • Perform health specific assessments with customers to identify health challenges around finding, starting and sustaining suitable employment.
  • Provide health specific evidence-based advice using clinical expertise and judgement to customers to address health specific barriers to work.

Skills and Experience

 

Essential

  • Proven experience of working in health promotion or public health 
  • Supported young people with health issues back to work/ vocational rehabilitation / occupation health.
  • Supported individuals with physical and mental health difficulties in a customer facing environment.
  • Presented and delivered health or wellbeing related group interventions, facilitating workshops or training sessions through digital technology.
  • Built rapport with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders using your coaching skills and knowledge of local community support areas.

Desirable

  • Desirable a qualified health professional registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), or British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
  • Knowledge and experience of the employability sector and local labour market
  • Experience of working with people in the provision of ‘information, advice & guidance’ 
  • Full driving licence to enable deployment across a specified geographical area (region), when required
