IT Project Manager (Remote) 12 month fixed term

Job Role

We’re currently seeking an IT Project Manager to work within the PMO function on a 12 month fixed term contract, where you'll play a key role in supporting projects within the Digital, Data, and Technology directorate. Your expertise will help ensure the seamless integration of technical initiatives across the organisation.

The IT Project Manager will oversee the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget. They will take operational requirements into account to guarantee that the expected business benefits are achieved with minimal disruption.

The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of experience as a Project Manager, backed by a strong track record in technical, digital, and IT project delivery. Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills are essential, as success in this role depends on effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range of £46,550 - £58,175 per annum (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Location:   Flexible - Remote Working   
Hours:   37 hours a week.  Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm - 12 month fixed term contract
Closing Date:  22 May 2025

Key Responsibilities

•    Delivery of agreed IT projects to time, cost and quality parameters. 
•    Professional representation of the department and in so doing, to support the process of change to key stakeholders. 
•    Engage, direct, and support, stakeholder involvement to participate and to support achievement of the project’s deliverables. 
•    Engage and work with BA’s and Programme Managers to ensure the realisation of benefits during the project lifecycle.
•    Effectively manage project risks, issues and dependencies using appropriate project management techniques. 
•    Deliver process change and organisational process reengineering where required. 
•    Direct and motivate any project team members.
•    Produce timely and relevant reports for the key stakeholders. 
•    Analyse data and contribute to the identification of potential solutions to issues.
•    Manage project closure and handover to business as usual in a controlled way.

Skills and Experience

Essential
•    APM/Prince 2 qualification.
•    5 years plus experience as a Project Manager with a proven track record of technical/digital/IT projects.
•    A successful track record in managing budgets and programmes of projects up to £0.5m.
•    A proven track record of stakeholder management.
•    Proven experience in a PMO function, including document management and creation - PIDs to project closure. 

Desirable 
•    Graduate level degree in appropriate discipline or related qualification or equivalent experience. 
•    Experience of working with senior business leaders and interpreting and translating their strategic plans into project specifications.
•    Experience in implementing major IT change projects and programmes.
•    Experience of working to ISO/GDPR/Cyber Essentials Plus standards. 
•    Experience on working on private and public sector projects.
